Introduction sailing course in Barcelona
Barcelonasail provides a special sail course for children between 12 and 18 years. During the sailing introduction, the children will get a thorough introduction to sailing, learn to appreciate the ocean environment, and improve their English.
We sail with only 5 children on a boat, this way the children can really be active the whole time.

Typical day
Meeting point in Bar Barnabeer.
10:00 arrival kids, meeting parents, kids and crew.
11:00 Arrive at boat
11:00 – 12:00 Instructions preparing the boat.
12:00 – 13:30 First sailing experience.
13:30 – 14:00 Lunch Break / write in logbook
14:00 – 16:00 Sailing break boat 16:15 – 16:30 Collect the kids
Covid-19
We are following the basic criteria for summer sports activities for children under 18.
4 main guidelines will always be followed:
1.) Social distance: separation at lunch eating outdoors
2.) Capacity: 5 instead of 9 kids on board
3.) Hygiene: hydro-alcoholic hand wash points. Disinfection of material.
4.) Use masks indoors.
Families must sign a declaration that the child has no disease nor contracted Covid-19.
Students must wash hands with hydro-alcoholic gel between activities.
Students can change in the port bathrooms but can’t shower.
Safety at sea
Life jacket: all boys and girls always come out with life jackets and do not take off in any case.
VHF: the skipper are equipped with VHF radios and are connected to the lifeguard center (Coordinators, ITC, Lifeguard and other groups)
Ratio: there is one skipper for 5 children.
Drop off and pick up
Parents must meet and bring the children to skipper Isgar or Dave at Barnabeer bar.
The boys and girls who come alone from home, will also meet us at Barnabeer bar. Nobody will go alone to the boats!

Lunch
Parents must select in advance the meal for the 5 days from Flax and Kale menu. Lunch cost are separate we arrange transport.
Parents must inform BarcelonaSail on allergies and medical conditions before the start.
We eat lunch outside in the harbor, on a public seating place. There is ample space and safe.
Clothing
Kids come dressed ready to get in the water. T-shirt that can get wet.
Boys: Bermuda shorts
Girls: Swimsuit covered wet pants
In backpack
– 1 other (wet lycra)shirt
– 1 other swimsuit (girls: also include other wet pants)
– 1 plastic bag to store the clothes we wet
– Towel
– Sunscreen
– Cap (optional)
– Mask stored in a waterproof bag in case you need it
– Complete spare clothes to return home dry
Valuables
It is not allowed to carry a mobile phone, purse or other valuables on board. Valuables are given to the skipper in the morning and returned at the end of the day.
