Last Sunday we did a very nice Barcelona group sailing trip with 10 people on Samba. Samba is a Archambault Grand Surprise, a regatta sailing boat with plenty of outdoor space. Group sailing trips means big adventures and great fun.

When participating in group sailing trips in front of the Barcelona coast line, you have to slap yourself every once in a while to make sure you haven’t stumbled into postcard world of beauty. The wind was warm and sailed the boat smoothly while the group enjoyed chatting, lying on the warm deck and get in a state of complete relaxation.
When we left the port we had warm sunny weather, the wind came from north-west that allowed us to get a nice speed. After about an hour being out on the water, the wind dropped and our sailings skills were challenged to get the most out of the remaining wind. Luckily, some members of the group had sailing experience and we decided to get out the spinnaker and play around. Setting the spinnaker is always very exciting! Group sailing is a great opportunity to practice and improve your sailing skills.
This time, we learned, that more sail not necessary means more speed. Although the almost 100 m2 red spinnaker is beautiful, our sail group decided to get it down and head with the jib slowly back to the port.
All in all, this was a remarkable group sailing experience to everyone on the board.
